Ce fantastique avantage défensif couplé aux [Move:Spikes] et les [Move:Stealth Rock] lui permet de s'imposer en tant que Hazard Setter difficile à abattre, tandis que son double type [Type:Dark] [Type:Ground] offre une immunité [Type:Electric] intéressante pour bloquer les utilisateurs de [Move:Volt Switch] et venir sur les types [Type:Ghost] très populaires du format. 

Autrement, Dinglu [Pokemon:Ting-Lu] est aussi en mesure d'empêcher le Set Up de certains Pokémon grâce à [Move:Whirlwind], ce qui ne le rend pas complètement inutile dans une équipe et synergise bien avec sa capacité à placer de nombreux Hazard.
